The Grand River Hunt was established in 1987 and is recognized member of the Masters of Foxhounds Association of America. The hunt goes out twice a week mid-August until weather becomes prohibitive. We hunt with permission on privately owned lands. Meetings at various locations in the Parkman, Garrettsville - Hiram area (45 minutes SE of Cleveland, Ohio).
     The hunt country is varied in terrain with good footing along rolling fields, twisting wooded trails, many stream crossings and numerous off roads. Jumps consist of coops not exceeding 3 feet and natural obstacles such as logs and ditches. All area's can be accessed without jumping.
     The sport of fox hunting is rich in history and tradition. Nowadays, for those who love horses, hounds and the great outdoors, it is a family activity with an emphasis on horsemanship and riding safety, humane and judicial treatment of all animals and the preservation and conservation of open lands.

   If you do not own a suitable hunt horse inquire about the availability of field hunters for lease or purchase.

   Guests are always welcome. The Grand River Hunt Club takes great pride in making sure newcomers feel welcome, safe and informed. We guarantee those who relish the thrill of the chase and hounds in full cry will not be disappointed. However, if you enjoy hunting at a slower pace, our Hilltopping Field Master will keep you close to the action without all the action. There is no better place to be on a horse than in hunt country, with good friends and a good pack of hounds.Non-riders are always welcome to come along on foot, bicycle or car. Our foxhounds are very personable and appreciate all the attention they can get. Hounds are exercised several times a week on foot, come along with us for a walk. we hope you will join us this season.

     The hunt exists to promote and encourage education about riding to hounds. Traditional foxhunting and the sport of riding to hounds. Along with the breeding and field training of foxhounds we strive to improve horsemanship in the field and riding safety. Our utmost consideration is to the preservation of the fox in it's natural habitat and the humane treatment of all animals. We endlessly work toward keeping open lands for all horsemen to enjoy for the future.
